She attended Spring Creek Academy before graduating from Plano Senior High School in 2015. Ohashi's dedication to both her athletic and academic pursuits led her to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she majored in gender studies and graduated in 2019.


Gymnastics Career

Junior Career: Ohashi's talent shone through in her junior career, training at Great American Gymnastics Express (GAGE) in Blue Springs, Missouri. She made her mark at the national level, earning accolades such as placing first on floor exercise at the 2009 Junior Olympic National Championships. Ohashi's skills continued to impress, propelling her to compete in elite meets like the U.S. Classic and the National Championships.


Senior Career:

Despite facing setbacks, including injuries and surgeries, Ohashi made a comeback and transitioned to Level 10 gymnastics. In 2013, she clinched the prestigious American Cup, defeating her teammate Simone Biles. Ohashi's perseverance and resilience were evident as she faced challenges head-on.


Collegiate Success:

Joining the UCLA Bruins gymnastics team, Ohashi became a standout performer. Despite a sternal fracture during a balance beam routine, she rebounded and excelled in subsequent seasons. Ohashi's electrifying floor routines earned her multiple perfect 10 scores, capturing the attention of a global audience when a routine went viral in 2019. She contributed to UCLA's victories, including a national championship win in the Super Six event.



Beyond Gymnastics

Ohashi's impact extends beyond the gymnastics arena. She has been vocal about her struggles with body image and the importance of mental health. Ohashi received counseling and acknowledged its significant role in her personal growth and well-being.
